“Come near to Me, and I’ll come near to you.” Of those two things, which is more important? Obviously, God coming near to you is 10 million times more important than any effort you would make to come near to Him! Still, He did choose that order.
Your part is listed before God’s part. And God made His part conditional:
Your part is so small, it hardly means anything! It does require something from you, even though it doesn’t really “accomplish” or “earn” anything. But I promise if you’ll do your little part and move towards Me, I’ll honor your desire by moving towards you. And you’ll see that being close to Me is where the really good stuff is!
